Advice on Upgrading Boat Audio

Hi All,

If this forum isn't appropriate, please suggest alternative and I will repost. I couldn't find a better place, so here goes:

I used to be able to stream audio from phones using a Kenwood product that plugged into the CD changer. Life was good. Apple decided to go to new lightning plugs and the Kenwood adapter stopped working even with an adapter old iPhone connecter to lightning connecter. Life is still generally good, but slightly less so ;-) So now I am looking to replace my old Kenwood KDC-MP4028 with a Bluetooth compatable unit. Since there are multiple rooms I want to make sure I get the proper equipment. and I'm asking for advice.

All equipment is stored down below and is completely dry.

Downstairs and dry:
Kenwood reciever (powers 2 downstairs speakers) mounted in cabenet
http://manual.kenwood.com/files/B64-2949-00.pdf
2 Kenwood 6X9's speakers (mounted in cabenet)
1 Amp (Powers 4 outside speakers)

Outside and exposed
4 JL Marine 7.7 round
1 hardwired remote (on/off, volume, Scan)

would like to add-on:
additional amp + outside subwoofer

The downstairs equipment is protected, but they do have to be powered by 12 volts when away from the dock. That would mean I have to stick with car audio equipment, correct? Any suggestions on a unit that can:

1) powered by 12 volts
2) Bluetooth enabled (stream)
3) Powers 2 speakers
4) line outs for 4 additional speakers
5) line out for an additional sub
6) remote controlled (if bluetooth can operate remotely, not a dealbreaker)

Thank you,
Andrew

This may be more of a Crutchfield question as that really has been their bread and butter for years.

I did a quick search through their site, and came up with this:
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KD768BT/Kenwood-KMR-D768BT.html?tp=61742

There may be better options or less expensive ones, but you get a bunch of pre-outs along with internal power control and you can get a wired remote for it. It has Bluetooth and you can directly wire you phone to it as well. So, a bunch of features you may want/need on it.

There are a bunch of similar options as well, but absolutely none that I'm completely familiar with as I'm not a car audio guy. Also not sure if there is any 'dual zone' car stereo receiver of any type. If you do want to treat the spaces separately, then you may need to get two head units and work with them independently of each other.

Clarion is a good bet for marine. Some of the best moisture/salt proof audio equipment IMO. We just installed one about 3 mos ago and that customer was hooking his iphone to it, but I don't remember the details of the unit.
