My employer is looking to purchase a t.v. for our gymnasium/weight room. It is a large room with very high ceilings. I have several concerns first is that there is windows on one side of the room and sunlight is giong to be an issue during some parts of the day. Second I think I may need minimum size of 50 inch. Third sound quality? The budget is going to be around $1,600.00 for t.v. and mount. I don't know the exact room dimensions, but could prob find out pretty easily. Any thoughts on plasma vs. lcd, and models for my budget.

I seriously doubt you'll find any flat-screen TV's in that size/price range.

Are you considering rear-projection TV's, which may or may not be able to handle the ambient brightness?

Depending on the layout, it may be cost effective to get a few inexpensive 32" CRT sets and stratigically place 'em around the room.
