Advice on speakers for Yamaha DSP Z9

I am now the owner of a Yamaha DSP Z9. My next step is to source a speaker system. There has been several comments on the heat build up in this Yamaha. Several of the speaker systems that I have favoured have an impedance of 4 Ohm. My concern is that connecting a 4 Ohm speaker system would contribute to the heat generation.

Help please!!

I would welcome advice on a speaker system that would produce quality audio and cinema effect. On the audio side, taste varies from rock to classical. Bass should loosen tooth fillings for movies.

No preference for stand mount or floorstanders. Can I get a speaker system for between 15-20k USD that would bring the best out of the Yamaha?

Well, with that kind of budget, you need to do quite a bit of listening (IMO). If there are any hi-fi shops in the area, start spending some time at them and find some speakers you like. As for a subwoofer, I would suggest that you consider at least two units from the Velodyne DD series.

Speaker brands to check out:

Vandersteen
Phase Technology
B&W 800 Series
M&K
Klispch Reference Series or THX Ultra 2 System
Vienna Acoustics
AVI
ATC
Sonus Faber
Paradigm Signature
Magnepan (may require a separate amp to reach high levels)
Martin Logan
PMC
Aerial Acoustics

Assuming you'll be using a projector, the best bet would be to use 5 or 7 identical tower speakers all around. This will provide a seamless, enveloping sound stage.
