Hi,
Well my head is spinning from all the reviews and message searches I've done over the past few nights but I hope it'll be worthwhile. So I'm posting my first message here to get some advice on the following set up:

We have one room in our basement that is been redone that is approx 25 feet * 15 feet that we'll use for our home theatre.

I need some advice on this set up and also need some recommendation on 2 rear speakers

Here is what I've deciced so far:

Total Budget for Speakers, Subwoofer and Wire = $800.

2 Front Speakers:
KLIPSCH RB-15 Bookshelf Speakers
or BIC America Venturi DV62si Bookshelf Speakers. Both get good reviews so it may come down to cost.

Center Speaker:
BIC America DV-62CLRS 6-Inch 2-Way Center Channel Speaker

Sub:
Hsu STF-1

2 Rear Speakers
I don't know what to get here:confused: . I need to attach them to our wall rather than have them on a stand. Any advice here is greatly appreciated. Can the
KLIPSCH RB-15 be attached to wall or do I need to get some satelite speakers instead?

Cable:
100 feet of 12 guage 5000UE BELDEN

Also, if anyone has recommendations on where to buy equipment, that would be helpful.

Thanks!!

Wow, it sounds like you're cloning my system!

If you're going to be using the DV-62 center, then you'd do best to get the DV-62 bookshelf fronts. The Klispch will sound waaaaay different (which will make for an inconsistent front soundstage). The STF-1 is a great lil sub, but I think you'll be getting close to its limit in your room. It also lacks super deep extension. If you can spend more on the sub, do it.

As for the rears, I would recommend another pair of DV-62si bookshelves. They work great.

Lastly, you're going to need more speaker cable. At least 200 feet, if not 250. I've used nearly 150 feet in my room which is only 14x11. Speaker cable goes a lot faster than you think. You should also budget for some banana plugs. They make life much, much easier with an A/V receiver.

Jaxvon,
Thanks for this advice. Can I ask 2 more questions:

1. I've read very good reviews about the KLIPSCH RB-15. If I was to consider buying them for the front speakers, would I be also able to use them for the 2rear speakers? If yes, does Klipsch make a center speaker that would work with the RB-15?

2. This may be silly but do I need to purchase additional wall mount devices or do they come with the speakers? If not, would you please recommend some mounting devices and/or website where I can purchase them?

Thanks again for your help!

I would agree with jaxvon that you really should stick with the same brand and line of speakers across the front three (left, center, right). Go with all Klipsch or all BIC, your choice.

You have a little more flexibility with back and/or side surrounds. It's still nice in my opinion to "stay within the family" as it were, but not nearly so critical.

Klipsch makes a number of dedicated center channel speakers within the Reference line that the RB-15 comes from. The RC-10 would probably match up with the RB-15's very well, and would be your least costly solution from Klipsch.

Brackets don't usually come with bookshelf speakers, so you'll probably have to purchase those separately.

Thanks again for this advice. I'll go with 4 of the KLIPSCH RB-15 Bookshelf Speakers and look into the RC-10 as well.

I'll search this message board for advice on wall mounted brackets as I'm not sure what would be the best ones for these speakers.

If anyone has advice here, I'd really be interested in knowing your experiences.

Well I decided to go with this Klipsch model off their website

http://www.klipsch.com/product/product.aspx?cid=865

Klipsch RB-15 Home Theater SystemCenter RC-25
Bookshelf RB-15
Surround Speaker RS-25
Subwoofer RW-8

However, I cannot find it online anywhere? Any suggestions on where to buy this item. I've emailed Klipsch cust support but no reply from them.

Thank You.

I think you should opt for a different subwoofer. I've found Hsu and SVS to be a superb value for subwoofers, much moreso than Klipsch. Once you find the cost of the 5 main speakers you want to buy, purchase the best subwoofer you can from SVS or Hsu. If you can afford the PB-10 (which gets close to $500 with shipping), go for it. It'll kick like hell for HT stuff. You should also make sure that you like the Klipsch sound before you commit to the system.

As far as purchasing goes, Klipsch will only honor the warranty on their Reference speakers if they are purchased through an authorized dealer. I believe that they prohibit internet sales of their Reference speakers as well, which means that you have to go to the store to listen before you buy. To find the nearest dealer, use this dealer finder:
