Advice on loud speakers?

hi guys,
im looking to start doing parties and i need some really good speakers
400w each or maybe 300w is good (something for lets say 300 people outdoor)
i have been looking at these:

now what do you think of JBL and these speakers?
and which ones do you recommend that are 400w each? it really need to have GREAT sound. im willing to spend 1500$ on each speaker, the lower the better

What kind of music do you play? How big of a room/how many people?

If you are playing electronic or rap, you'd probably need to pair those with two subwoofers for any sizable room, as they roll off at 52Hz. For pop music you might be able to get away with one.

JBL makes nice PA speakers, I think you are in the right direction.

4 speakers, properly placed, will cover the area better than 2 at the front. The desired SPL will determine what you need and how many. Running a system balls-out isn't a good way to go about it.

Funny thing about doing PA/sound reinforcement work.

It's sort of an audio oxymoron that when a speaker is placed for maximun clean coverage, the bass suffers. Likewise, when a speaker is placed for the best bass reinforcement, everything else suffers.

You're best off mounting the upper bass/mid/treble units up high and getting a bass bin or two to mount on the floor. ...particularly if you want gut-wrenching bass.

Likewise, an electronic bi/tri/quad amp setup can help termendously here.

You should check out Danley. Their speakers are not cheap, but you will never look back. Some of their sh-100's would do the trick. Also check out JTR. Their triple 8's or triple 12's would work very nicely.
