Advice on home theater setup

I am looking for some expert advice on my home theater setup before I purchase. Just finished up the wife's kitchen, so I got the go ahead for my theater room. The basement room is carpeted and currently wired for a 7.2.4 speaker layout with projector. The Atmos speakers will be in the ceiling and all others will be on bookshelves and floorstanding. I'm located in the US and looking to spend around $5000 for the electronics. This media room will be used for 95% movies/gaming and 5% music. It is not a dedicated theater room and is open to other areas of the basement. Quick sketch of basement layout and dimensions is attached. I will figure the screen, mounts, and seating/etc. when i mount the projector. Main questions would be: right size subs to fit the area? too big?, what additional amp would I need and for which speakers?, best bang for buck speakers/projector? I tried the benq 2050 and didn't like a few things about it (screen was too big mounted at 16' back from wall, rainbow effect bothered me). So, I was going to try the Epson 3100? Is my current list (below) the best way to spend $5000? Anything I am forgetting?

Thanks for all the help!!

Current list:
Epson 3100 projector $1099
4 Elac B5 bookshelves and Debut C5 Center $640
2 Elac Debut F5 Towers $560
2 Vtf-3 Mk5 hp $1550
4 Micca M-8c Ceiling speakers $80
Yamaha 3060 11.2 channel Receiver $2000
Additional Amp?

The equipment looks good. It looks like you did your homework there, speakers, subs, projector, AVR, all look like great choices to me. You will need an additional amplifier for the full 11 channel sound. That Yamaha only amplifies 9 channels. I would think about getting outboard amplification for all the speakers eventually, if only for taking a load off of the AVR. Amplification will generate heat, and heat will reduce the life of the electronics, so the further you can get that heat away from the processing components in the AVR, the better.

One thing you can do, since that AVR has pre-outs, is use active speakers. You might think about using three JBL LSR308s for the front stage- they are very good speakers and they are self-amplified. They probably have superior dynamic range to the Elacs as well. You can use JBL LSR305s for the surrounds. They are also active. That will all take a tremendous load off the amp. Spares you the expense of buying an additional amp too. I think the JBL LSRs have a better chance of keeping up with the dynamic range of the Hsu subs too, those subs are pretty outrageous. Using an LSR for the center speaker gets you away from the compromised MTM design of the Elac center as well, so it would be a better center.
