Advice on election for a brand new guy

Hi experts,

I'm a beginner in HIFI and looking to equip my saloon (6x3) with a home theater system for both cinema and good quality music.

One option I'm considering is the following:

NAD T742
Speakers PSB Alpha Intro LR (5+1)
DVD Player NAD T512

Can you advice if this is a good election? I know this may depends on many things and it's very subjective but a more experienced "hand" can help me to avoid making a mistake.

You do mean 6 by 3 meters right? The PSB intro set is a great little system IMO, but if you give us a little more info you'll get some more suggestions. Info like budget and location will be a big help. Also if you list the price you are being quoted for the equipment listed then you'll get a better idea if you are paying the right amount. Nad is a great company too in my opinion. I hope to be getting the 533 DVD player soon.

I'm a pretty big PSB fan, and I've heard the Intro system being powered by a Yamaha 1500 and it was pretty good.
