Advice? Looking for 5.1 system around $1000

I'm looking for an excellent 5.1 system for my new Sony ES2000 (120Wx7) receiver. My budget is about $1000. My room is 12'x12'x10'. Seems to me that the three best contenders are...

Ascend System 22-12 ($1030)

Aperion Intimus 422/S-8 ($800)

Mordaunt-Short Avant Premiere ($900?)

Any thoughts, experiences, praises, or complaints with these systems is much appreciated!

I'm not sure any of yhose are excellent. An excellent sub alone is going to be 600 bucks min. Excellent 5 other speakers,maybe 1000-1200 bucks. The stuff you listed is ok,they will work.

I've had some luck with BIC in the past. This set up can be had within your price range. Do some research on it...

Ascend Acoustics is the best of your list. You can find more info on the Ascend Forum. The Mordant-Short would be my next choice.
