I have a 42" panasonic plasma and love it. I am space limited and can fit a 46" so I am going to buy a new one and move the old 42" to my bedroom.

Question: There are 4 models of 46" panny plasmas all in the $1200 price range when I check and compare on electrozone. The models are:
1. TCP46S1
2. TCP46G15
3. TCP46U1
4. TH46PZ850U

Anyone out there have any experience good or bad with any of these TVs, or does anyone have an opinion on which direction I should go with them?

FYI, I run PS3 for blue ray movies through Yamaha RX-V861 receiver.

Thanks in advance!
Kurt

I'm not sure what the u1 is, but I'd say the g15 from that list. However, look for the G10 for a better value (at respective msrp at least). You lose an hdmi slot, or something, and/or ethernet. IOW, stuff you probably don't care about.

The 850 will probably have better color accuracy OTB, but I think their previous flagship still gives up blacks, contrast, gradations to even this year's mid-line (G series).

I have a very hard time thinking of a superior TV than the g10/g15 at 46". It might be the very best available flat panel in the world at the given size . . . ?

For a 46" display?

Panny G10 all the way :)

The G15 is just a little bit physically thinner is all. Not at all worth any extra cash, IMO.

Get the G10 ;)

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the helpful advice. Love this web site - I have received nothing but solid helpful advice as I have slowly built my home theater.

The G15 is going for less than 1200 on some of the web sites - seems to be a total bargain right now. The G10 seems harder to find and about the same price. Considering how close they are in price, I am going to opt for the G15.

Thanks again!

IMO, i would choose the Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ850U, like the look and is unbelievable for gaming/movies.
