I am not sure where this question belongs but here it goes. I am trying to get a bookshelf micro system. I thought of Philips Executive 30-Watt Micro Speaker vs. Onkyo cs-v720 vs onkyo-cs325 or any ther reccommendations you can give me. I am looking for something $200-400, classy look, AM/FM/CD is a must, can use for MP3 would be nice or has a built in dock, i donot need it to have DVD or SACD or XM.

Thanks alot for any advice

The Onkyo systems are pretty good. If they are available in your area I'd suggest one of their systems. The Onkyo head units are capable of driving more than just the speakers that come with it, so if you decide you ever want to upgrade the speakers to another bookshelf with superior looks and performance you have the option to do that.

Hi Seth, thanks for the great review in your other post, I was wondering if I can the Onkyo cs315 and substitute the speakers for Anthony Gallo nucleus speakers? or are the speakers the onkyo come with good enough? Would there be a considerable improvement on the sound with the nucleus speakers? and would the Onkyo be adequate to drive the nucleus speakers? The reason I keep on mentioning these speakers because the are one of the very few speakers that my wife like their design and color(white).

Thanks again

I would say the Anthony Gallos would be fine with the Onkyo CS315. Are you getting the Anthony Gallos at a local dealer? Keep in mind Anthony Gallo doesn't have AUTHORIZED dealers online, they do strictly brick and mortor dealers. So if you purchase them online Anthony Gallo will not honor a warranty on those products.

I will also say the low frequency capability of the Anthony Gallo Nucleous speakers is not present, so if you want the full range sound you'll need to add a subwoofer. Luckily Anthony Gallo makes subs to match their speakers, not luckily that will increase your price (which the wife may not necessarily approve of, but she's not my wife, I don't know.;)).

Good luck with your setup, it looks like it's going to be a nice one.
