I would not even waste my time.It will make no difference at all in your sound.By all means though if you are feelin it go ahead and try it out.I am sure you will agree it makes no difference.

Thanks for that great link. I work in the development of new cancer drugs (CTEP), and we sponsor a great many clinical trials of these agents. We all have to deal with the placebo effect daily. I liked how in the article, it was suggested that we describe this as the "placebo response" instead. I made prints of that article to hand out to people I work with.

It's always amazing to me how so many groups of people: scientists & medical doctors, advertisers & marketing people, trial lawyers & magicians, etc. are well aware of the power of suggestion. But not audiophiles! They always claim they trust their ears over any measurable method of evaluating audio gear without understanding the power of what's between the ears.

As you've posted many questions in your time(over a year) on our forum that I think reading a few articles on the AH main site might clear up. I do suggest your read them.

As you've been around the block with questions. Let me summarize some facts for you.

1. Bi-wiring is useless if you have the properly gauged wire.
2. Changing receivers will not change your actual sound in direct mode, but my change the perceived sound.
3. To have a real upgrade in power you will need an amp with at least twice the power of your receiver.

Questions.

Did you ever blow that sub?:) If so what did you replace it with.
Why would you biwire a sub?

I hate to say it but I agree. I bi-wired with 10 AWG and I'm not noticing anything special. I did notice the back of my receiver is absolutely packed with cables though ...

Of course, I can't tell the wife I bought all the extra cable for the heck of it so bi-wired we shall remain.

Just for the sake of a ridiculous argument (Although I'd hate to pollute a thread in its 858th cycle) but "bi-wiring" a sub could make a difference provided it was a DVC and only one voicecoil was hooked up. Thats a bit obscure though.

It should be pointed out that there is technically a "difference" in bi-wiring, it just has no bearing on sound. Although, I'm pretty darn sure my mids got a little creamier and my highs "highier"...

lsiberian makes a good point about wire gauge.

lol.

no i never really was able to really damage it to the point that it would not work, the sound just got worse but it still would work. i bought the jbl cuz it was cheap. i kind of like the jbl more then the velodyne.

as for biwireing, i was always under the impression that it helps, but if not then screw it. i will however get plugs to make everything a lil easier for me.

Yes, indeed. They would be depressed if they knew the truth;):D and would have to resort to those placebo pills that work just as well;):D

Indeed, some hard core beliefs overturned would drive some to madness:D so they resist. But wait, audio is not the only marketplace.

Some disadvantages should be mentioned.

1. It creates an additional tripping hazard. :)

2. It can contribute greatly to the reduction in interested members of the opposite gender.

3. Cuts can result from prepping additionaly wiring.

4. Attempting to feed the wire may result in cursing which could result in a momma beat down.

I can think of one;) Keeps some people in the industry employed and not collect unemployment checks:D
Mtry - You've always been interested in the placebo effect. You should take the time and read the article that TLS linked in his post above. It's very good.
