Advance search question

I've been wondering if there is a way to search individual threads for attachments and/or pictures? Over at AVS forums they are all the "XXX owner threads" and I would like to just look at the setups but sometimes the pics are few and far between.

Anyone know if this is possible?

Looking for a more efficient way to find pictures in the "XXX" threads, huh? :D

To your question, sorry - I don't know how to do that.

I guess, I am in trouble then ...

Whenever, I have a hard or difficult issue or problem to resolve... there is always one guy who either knows the answer or knows how to find it.

Nothing can stump him or his avatar picture of a White Canadian Eskimo or White Siberian husky dog!

That is who you need to ask ;) and if he deosn't know we are in trouble!

Wow, now I feel like I need to find the answer. :) Let me go take a look around. If there isn't anything, my brother might be able (and have the time) to create something that will.

Oh, and Matt...my mind doesn't descend into the gutter - it occasionally rises up to it. :D

I haven't found anything that I really like, yet, but here's something that I'll share in the mean time.

You can use Google's advanced search option to check specific sites, as well as specifying other parameters (such as the time frame). There are short cuts to using the advanced search page, and you'll see them in the search string once you do a search.

For example, you can search a specific site using Google by using the term "site:". The content before "site:" is your search term, and after "site:" is the site to search. For example, "Advanced Search site:forums.audioholics.com".

To search for titles within a page as well (which works better for the above example), you can use the "allintitle:" term. For example, "allintitle: Advance Search site:forums.audioholics.com".

So - how to use this to find images? That's what I haven't nailed down. You can search for the string "

so you want to see all the attacments on the XXX threads on AVS? just click on the paper clip icon to the right of the thread title. (you will see all the links to the attachments)

but note that you will miss all the "3rd party links" from flickr, photobucket ...
