.....Vigor, what you're going to get is different voices and different harmonics trying to mix....I would go with another 8 just like you have, or sell the 8, and get two 10's or 12's that are the same, for the front....I know, I know, money don't grow on trees, but my comments are geared toward your having the best foundation under your soundstage....if I had to start over, it would be 2 PB 10's, no doubt, under the small cannons....with no small cannons in the picture, I might look at two 10 inch front-firing Merlin Hogan Grottos.....

MULESTER7- Do you mean The SVS, I"m from Montreal and with the shiping and Taxes I can buy here in Montreal VELODYNE, PSB, and more good brand, I'm thinking about the Velodyne 12" and in the future like you sayed to sell the 8" and to buy another velodyne 12" If needed perhaps one wil be good enough. I understand that the 8" can not work with the 12" in order to have the best foundation.

LOL merlin hogans :D you crack me up like japan Mule

I agree. If you want two subs, one in each corner, keep them the same.

You can put the bigger (louder) subwoofer in the front, and use the weaker sub in the back of the room if you want. I have done that and it has to be experienced.

PS - Japan is known for earthquakes.

The Velodyne DPS 12 is front firing and has a smaller amp than the down firing SVS PB-12 ISD. I searched for a dealer in Montreal and then in Canada for the DPS series and found none.

As you can see I have the SVS and do live in Montreal. Shipping was $ 58.60 charged by SVS. There was no duty but paid GST and PST plus a UPS brokerage fee.

HSU Subwoofers

I think that HSU has a Canadian distributer. Their STF-3 or STF-2 sub might be good options. Unless you have a big room or are a bass junky, you might find that one good 12" sub provides plenty of LFE.

I don't think the driver has to be the same, yes in a perfect world it would be nice to have matching sub's, but for most of us it may not be possible. I have a infinity csw10 up front with a polk psw404 in the back (yes they are the same size of driver but different brands and power ratings), it did take some time to match levels and placement but the bass is just killer with the two subs, the csw10 alone was probably fine but the two are incredible.

.....Vigor, if I lived in Canada, and SVS was taxed and levied beyond being a fair price, and Velodyne could be had at normal pricing, there would not be a large decision to make......

Most probably you are right, I'm going to see and to hear the PB 12" and if it is good I will order the 10 to match my sub.
