Adding a FM Transmitter to a Denon AVR 2105?

My first post, so bear with me.

I have a Denon AVR 2105 receiver. I want to be able to hear whatever source I have selected on the 2105 throughout my house without wiring extra speakers. I recently purchased a high-powered FM Transmitter and have am/fm radios in the rooms I wish to pick up my receiver's signal.

Is there anyway, on the 2105, to hook up the FM Transmitter to the receiver, so that no matter what I'm listening to, the signal gets sent out?

I currently only have the FM Transmitter hooked up to my Satellite Radio dock (through a splitter, one mini cable goes to FM Transmitter, the other to the 2105) but I have realized I would like to hear other sources throughout the house. Does this make sense?

Also, does anyone have a link to a FAQ dealing with Zone 2 on this receiver? I've read and re-read the manual, and I just don't understand how Zone 2 works.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions... I am not an audiophile at all, so go easy on me!

Well, looking at the back of your receiver it looks lile the "CDR/Tape Out" is a likely candidate. This will send any* source selected to the transmitter and ne independent of the volume control.

*Some units don't send a digital source to the tape outputs, only analog inputs like FM, Phono, CD if fed thru red/white analog stereo connectors and the like. You may want to check this out. you may not be able send the DVD signal this way.

The other option is through the preamp outs. this will only send two channels, not a full x.2 setup, and this level will vary acording to the volume control

I tried the CDR-Out. Great idea, but I wasn't able to get a signal. But I did hook it up to the Zone 2 PreAmp out and it works great! I can now select any non-digital source and hear it through out the house.

In case anyone is wondering, I used the following FM Transmitter. It works great and I live in urban Los Angeles, and the signal is clear.

Thanks again!

Glad it worked out.

diunno why it didn't work from the tape out. In the old days of analog stereo receivers and tape recorders I'm pretty sure it should have since tape outs were always live. I guess I'll check my manual (Denon 2802).

Nice Transmitter. I've been looking or one myself but for just the opposite reason. I want to take streaming radio from my computer and send it to my receiver.

I was gonna go for this one but for a few more bucks I think I'll forgo the kit building experience and try yours.

If you investigate why it didn't work via the tape out, I'd be interested to hear. I thought it should have worked as well.

Yes, I was surprised at how good this transmitter worked, the thing that is nicer about the one you posted is more range on what freq you are going to tune in to. I was worried about living in such a dense area like LA, but the freq 107.9 was completely open.
