Addictive Time Waster....Flash based puzzle game

Ha, ha! My brother sent me that link weeks ago because he had become addicted to it (it reminds him of one of our techniques in WarCraft III). I will try for the second time to fight the urge to play...

Thanks for the link.

My first impression was that is kinda boring because you can't reposition your weapons nor delete them once they are placed (you can only sell at a loss from what you paid) and then you just watch as they automatically fire.

Then I tried it again. And again. And again. Now I'm getting the hang of it and am now getting scores over a thousand (play Medium or Normal mode).

So way to go Matt. Between this and Tetris I'll never get any work done. :)

I looked at some of the score leader maps at the beginning for some ideas and now have a high score of 5800.

Ahh, something new to do in class :). Thanks, now the biggest problem is getting up after class is over and I still have a game going.

This thing is driving me crazy. I have a lot of the same ideas as the other player mazes and even tried to build ones similar to the those with scores in the 5,000+ range and everything goes smoothly until I get around 2,220+ and then it all turns to crap and I hear yipee!, yipee! over and over and my life is soon over. :(

start with the easy mode MDS ... til you get the hang of it ...

1) make them go round and round before reaching their objective
2) first finish your maze, before upgrading a few turrets to super turrets

I play the normal mode but the best I have done so far is 3200 points. After awhile there are just too many creeps and even super upgraded pellet guns or squirters don't do enough damage to clear them all. The Boss and the Flying creeps are the most problematic in later rounds.

Some of the other player's mazes appear to show that they have built a maze with only one exit and they direct the incoming creeps from the top and left around the maze to a single exit at the bottom or right. That does not seem to be possible as you always have to have two exits; otherwise you get the 'blocking' message.

The creeps always take the shortest path and will never follow a path that leads to a dead-end.

On normal I just build the two sections together and fortify the area where both lines meet to cause the most damage in one area. Also, towards late game I only build squirters one at a time and don't build another until it is fully upgraded. 320 damage is awesome.

I'm over 4,200 points now. The flying creeps are what mess me up every time. I don't see how any of the simple mazes with nothing but stock pellet guns could ever finish all the levels.

With 6 Squirters all upgraded to the max, I still can't kill the last flying Boss. It is addictive.

I have yet to kill the two flying bosses too. I came close with 5 of the fast maxed out pellets and two 4th tier anti-flying turrets.

I managed to kill them both with two maxed out turrets. Those things fire fast and properly positioned kill the flying bosses quickly.

I watched a youtube video of how someone managed a 8000+ score and they basically juggle the creepers by opening up an exit at the beginning of the maze when the creeps make it to the end, causing them to go back through the maze.

Rinse and repeat as necessary.

That's an interesting approach. I've made changes on the fly but never considered totally re-routing the creeps.

I finally completed all the levels and got a score of 4,700 something but I only had 2 lives left.

some people consider juggling ... exploiting a "bug" of the game

Yeah, I was wondering what the highest score you can get without juggling? I really don't think you can get into the 8000's without using that method.
