Add a car sub or leave it alone

I like good clean sound, but for some movies I would like a little more rumble low end stuff. NOT for music listening. I have 4 10" aluminum subs now in my RBH 1010 SEP's, but they don't do much at all under 20 HZ. I have a 15" RE audio HC sub from back in the day when I was into car stereo's and it's gotten very little use since the box I built for it wasn't supported enough and cracked causing a very annoying vibration. It's a 50 lb sub that's a dual 2 ohm sub if I remember right. I could build a box for the home theater and buy a bash amp of some sorts and an eq and tune it for only 30Hz and under and probably get to 15 Hz with major rumble, but would it be worth it? I'm not sure how a car sub will do filling a room. It's just a shame to let it sit there and I can't sell it for much, but being able to handle 1000 watts easily could be nice for the low low stuff. What are your thoughts and opinions? Anyone tried it before in a good clean system? I tried it once before with a pair of 12's, but it ended up beoing louder in the neighbors house than ours so I stopped.

If you get the specs for the driver, I am sure someone here could help you come up with a box that could get you what you are after, though it depends on the driver as to whether or not you will be looking at 15Hz performance.... Rarely will you ever see a main speaker that is going to get you below 20Hz, and if you did, you are going to need plenty of power for them if they are passive.

I tried getting the specs, but didn't ever hear back from them and the new ones replaced the spec list so nothing online anymore. Maybe I'll call them to see if the specs are out, but my current box is built to specs for the port and internal air space. I think it's 4 to 4.5 cubic feet. Very large for a car, but easy to fit in a house.

Yeah, give them a call. RE subs are beasts. My friend put two RE 15" MX's in his Durango and it blew out the rear window and cracked his A-pillars playing the infamous "Late Night Tip" by 36 Mafia (even if you hate rap, it's a good song to best subwoofer output with). It also dislodged the rear windows from their tracks. The subs were fine. But, I was stunned. I'd never seen anything like it. I was standing outside and could feel my hair moving. Needless to say, after that he decided one was enough. I kind of want to put a 10" or 12" SX in my next car.
