Folks, I received some Adcom gear a while back and will be hopefully setting it up soon. A GFA-7705 (amp) and an Adcom GTP-860II is what I'm dealing with. Forever using AV receivers, I now find myself in new territory with these separates. The processor seems a bit outdated but I'd love to use the amp without spending a lot on a pre-pro (I was hoping to keep the dream alive for around $500-$600??). Is it easier and cheaper to simply purchase a new AVR and hook it up with the 7705? Using PS3 as BD player....

I would just get a modern network/ HDMI AVR and output to the Adcom Amp.

For example, a used Denon 3310/ 3311/ 3312/ 990/ 991 is about $450.
