Finally getting some time to get back to watching movies, I mean to give back and give some reviews.

I recently watched "Adaptation," a film which is based on a writer (Nicolas Cage) trying to make a screen play of the book "The Orchid Thief" (writer is played by Meryl Streep). It's a difficult movie to describe, and although the reviews for it were very positive, I just didn't like it. It's worth a watch, but be prepared for a good start, a painful middle and a crazy end. The acting is great, Cage is fantastic, Streep is ...well... awesome as always, and Chris Cooper is great too). The writing is also interesting, the characters are interesting, I really liked the opening stop-motion like sequence, but, for some reason...I just didn't like the movie.

I'd say worth a rent. Maybe you'll love it, a lot of people certainly did!

I've seen very little of Spike Jonze's works, but I really enjoyed Being John Malkovich. Pretty eccentric, but pretty funny too.

I saw it a few years ago and really liked its eccentric weirdness (as I did with Malkovich). As I recall, it was about the last time I ever thought of Nick Cage as and actor.

I keep saying it, but this one was the best movies Cage has done in a LONG time. I thought it was very well done.
