I understand that audioholics may not have direct control over the ads that are displayed on this site.

But if you can find a way to stop displaying BOSE advertising, I'm sure a lot of us would appreciate that. I'm cool with the other manufacturers, but when 95% of the forum is vehemently against everything that Bose stands for, it doesn't make a whole lotta sense for them to be advertised here.

I think the automated advertisement is run through Google.
So I'd guess Blose pays more than everybody else.

Think of it this way: Bose is paying good money on a worthless ad.

Ads mean they pay to support Audioholics, a site that actively works against their interests. That's cool with me.

Ads that people click on are worth a lot more money than ads that are simply displayed. Since Bose ads are likely going to have very low click-through rates, I would think they'd want to display something else that people are more likely to want to buy :)

Are you kidding? Its awesome that Bose even notices us. They don't advertise on any other A/V site but ours. They usually advertise on huge non related sites like Playboy, Forbes, etc.

Its the ultimate joke that they chose our property despite how most our our readers (myself included) feel about the quality/value ratio of their products.

I hope our ad agency keeps selling ad space to them. Go Netshelter! WooHoo!!

My brother once met the man responsible for marketing the Wave Radio. When asked what he though about the product he marketed, he told my brother it was an amazing engineering feat for $50 worth of parts ;) No Joke!

Gene is such a whore. :D
... an unabashed one at that. Frankly I'm a little stunned but it makes me wonder what else these guys are willing to make Tom do for a buck. I didn't realize that they had an add agency ... *cough*-pimp-*cough*. :)

Something else that has caught my attention is what's happened to the prices of that Onkyo 707 and Primus 362's since they started being made mention of around here. Couldn't the on line stores have been happy just selling more of them? The stupid prices have gone up. It's not like I was going to buy anything any time soon but dang ... now I'm even less able to.

This site gets A TON of traffic going through it. Not just members but lurkers as well. I bet Bose realizes this and wants a little piece just on the numbers alone this website attracts. They could get a hold of that information, correct?

One thing Bose isn't is stupid. They are one of the most efficiently run businesses in American. They know our exact demographics and traffic. We do supply our traffic info to our ad agency so I am sure they studied that in detail before deciding on where to advertise. Audioholics has more readers than all the major A/V print publications combined so they probably figure they still get great exposure even if only 40% of our readers will purchase their products. I have to admit when I see the ads for the clock radio, I almost want one too

Yep its my goal to have 100% of our ads sold through an agency so I don't have to deal with the drama when some of our advertisers call in NOT happy that our reviews are too critical of their products :)
