AC4L has the Acoustic Energy sub/sat system. The system is new
in the box, and use to list for around $2000. This can make a nice
system where small is required. >> Acoustic Energy is a high-end
company from England.

The sats seem to have good quality parts > and attention seems
to be applied to the crossovers, with 2nd and 3rd order filters >>
The sats are a sealed design > and looks to be a good option for
one who needs small surrounds. The small sub also seems to look
interesting, with an opposed driver design and weighs 41lbs

AC4L has a 30% off Black Friday special, for the system or seperates.
It will show up in the cart.
Accessories4less: High End Audio at Low End Prices!

I have owned Acoustic Energy speakers before, and they were nice
and well built.

I convinced a friend of mine to jump on the Focal deal. He's been yapping for awhile about the Chorus speakers he heard at Tweeter 6 or so years ago... so I pointed the deal out to him and gave him a nudge to finally buy them. Upside for me is I finally get to hear some Focal speakers...

The AE deal looks nice, but from what I can gather, the sub uses a fixed 250Hz low pass, so it seems intended for use with a receiver with bass management...

Otherwise, there is no way to lower the cutoff... Or I might have bought it for my computer setup...

The Focal will be nice.

I am thinking/hoping the sub has more than that - Acoustic Energy
marketing, can sometimes leave some descriptions out. I am trying
to track more info down.

I tired to find a pic of the back of the sub, and from what I could see, it looked like the plate amp only had one dial, which I'm guessing was for level. So it didn't look like there is an adjustable crossover, but I couldn't find a manual or better pic to confirm that.

Again, it's a non-issue if using a receiver's LFE out....

I found a manual - the subwoofer needs to work with a reveiver, or
a processor to lower/adjust the cutoff. >> It does have auto switch,
volume, and phase control. Most people will use bass management
with this anyway.
