Looking at the DENON AVR-S510BT receiver. Priced at $250+at Best BUY but I hate those guys only for their price gouging practices with HDMI, cables, wire etc. Accessories4Less has it for only $199, but is refurbished. I would much rather deal with this company but a bit leery(sp?) about something refurbished. They also recommended that for $100 more I could upgrade to S710. Would it be a better choice. Any thoughts about this? Thank you

A4L sells the refurbs, the refurbs are certified by the brand's contractor (D+M IIRC uses Panurgy); the refurbs may have issues but I find A4L to be great to deal with should you get a bad one (I had two bad Denon refurbs). The warranty is quite a bit different between new and refurb; you may want to think about an extended warranty (and when purchasing with certain credit cards you may have that automatically, mine does). There is risk with a refurb so you have to be willing to deal with it....

Getting an avr further up the food chain usually has more features, whether they're useful or not is up to you. IIRC the 510 lacks Audyssey (think its the only Denon model that does), which I would prefer to have in a Denon avr. Have you used the comparison tool on the Denon product pages?
