AC Infinity Aircom S6 or S8

I have a Denon 3600H in a shelving unit which is open to the front and sides and has a perforated metal screen on the back. The Denon has 3 inches of clearance above it to the next shelf. The shelving unit is behind my projector screen, so I can’t actually see the components unless I actually look behind. I measured the heat above the Denon and am getting a max of 110 f. Not sure if that’s too terrible, but I’m looking to add a fan to be on the safe side. I was looking at the Aircom S8 which would cover the entire top of the Denon. My concern is that if it ever stopped working for some reason I may not notice in time and it would trap in the heat instead of removing it. I thought the S6 might be an option because it only covers a portion of the top and if it ever stopped working there would still be some open area for the Denon to vent. Would the S6 be adequate for the 3600 at 110 f or would it be undersized and just keep running or not be effective at all? Looking for some thoughts or anyone who has the S6 and how effective it is. Thanks.

First and foremost, without a fully open back, you need to get the front venting model, either the S or the T series.
Top or rear venting will do you little good.

I know firsthand with the T series that there is an alarm feature that will notify you if there is a mishap. I also leave my display on and can see the temperature even when not using my gear.
I am not certain what the differences are between the S and T series, but I do know the T Series works well. I have the front venting T-10 because my Marantz was in a cabinet for a while, and even with all the recommended space above/behind/both sides, it still got toasty. Until I got the t-10 set up, that is.

My projector screen is one of the pull down ones, so the only issue with a front venting unit is that it might cause the screen to move. I have attached a picture of the rear of the unit and I think it should vent ok.

I think I’ll try the S6, that way I’ll also have the option to move it around so the fans can be placed right over wherever the hot spot is. Won’t have that option with the S8.
