I would like to build a sub woofer for my home theater. But I need to know are the crossovers all ready in the sub amps. Or will I have to build that too?
I wanted to use the bash 500 watt amp for the build.

If you are building the sub yourself you can choose to include a xover or not. If the sub will be fed from the sub pre-out of a receiver that allows you to choose a xover frequency, then there is no need to include a xover in the sub itself.

I built my subwoofer (Stryke AV-12, Rythmik 380watt plate amp) and while I had my HT ghetto rigged to a computer I found the crossover adjustment useful. Now that I have a receiver in there I set the crossover equal to the receiver's setting.

Hope that helps.

What parts are you planning on using?

That sounds wonderful yet they make near perfect enough professional amplifiers Crown QSC JBL with a range of electronic crossover to chose from the more but expensive (dbx 4800) has used the worlds famous Empire Leicester square, I’ve heard them already and they are the business! Then again there’s the more but yet very effective affordable (Behringer DCX2496) which I own and yes very pleased with it very!

You might want to consider these facts as building an amplifier with all the trimmings will work out costly with lots of trail and errors in the way, still its want you desire I hope it works out affordable for you good luck.:)
