just aquired a pair of A3 advent speakers. The woofers dont work[if you put voltage to them they dont move] suggestions on replacements?? thanks
There is no replacement for those woofers. Actually their virtually in no replacement for a driver in any speakers except originals for that matter. The Thiel/small parameters, sensitivity and acoustic response must match perfectly and that never happens.
If you connect an ohm meter across the terminals can you measure a resistance? If not that speaker is not repairable. If you get a reading can free you the cone up. That driver has a foam surround, and will be rotted. The surround can be replaced if the voice coil in not burned out and you can free the voice coil up.
