A/V Reciever with a Cable (Comcast) TV Coaxial Input

This may be a lame-o question. But I've got a Samsung HDTV that only allows for a specific zoom type with component/s-video inputs, NOT coaxial. So I cannot currently do this zoom with my Comcast TV (coaxial). I did borrow a friend's Comcast HDTV receiver/set-top box that has a coaxial input and component output. Obviously, I plugged the cable TV coaxial into the box and the components into my TV, and voila, I could do the zoom with my Comcast TV. Which brings me to MY QUESTION, what, if any A/V recievers will act like this HDTV box. I know some Onkyos, Sonys, etc., have a digital coaxial inputs, but will they do what I need. You need not list all if there are many and I'm just a monkey, just what I should be looking for.

If by 'coaxial input' you mean an input for the coax cable with the F-pin connector coming from the wall there are zero receivers that have that kind of input.

TVs have such an input if you want to connect the cable from the wall directly to the TV but more often you run the cable from the wall to a set top box and then use component video cables from the box to the receiver and it sounds like that is exactly what you did when you borrowed your friend's set top box.
