Looking for recommendations for a good A/V Receiver match for Mits 57833 & Axiom Epic 60-500 6.1. I like the Onkyo TX-SR875 but am concerned with the heating issues I have been reading about. I have the speakers already and have ordered the TV - expect it next week.

Cheers,
Gary W.

I really like the sound of my Denon, and IMHO, it sounds better than the Yamaha (HTR - 5890) I had before this.

Whats your budget, what features are you looking for? This info will help narrow down the selections.

I don't want to spend more than $2000, since the rest of my budget is slotted for the TV and credenza. I've did some comparison shopping and like the Denon 4308CI so far...

I also have an Axiom setup only in a 7.1 configuration. jseman1.googlepages.com

If you don't need HDMI then I recommend the Pioneer VSX-817 receiver. Utilizing MCACC makes it sound very good IMO.:p

HT receiver

Gary,
Nice speakers.
Any mid-fi receiver in the $1k price range from Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer, etc. should have plenty of power for your 8 ohm Axiom speakers. I would save a little money on the receiver and put it towards an HD source like HD-DVD or BluRay. An HD source will always look better than an SD source with a good scaler.

Also check out the seperates from Emotiva in your budget. They will be releasing new pre-pros early next year and existing owners will get 40% off. The new models will have 4 HDMI inputs, auto setup, EQ, etc.
