A/V cables used for Component signal?

Hey there,

Just found this forum and lots of good info here!

I saw a recent post about using component video cables for audio as they are rated for higher bandwidth, however, what about using a pair of A/V cables for a component connection?

The reason I'm asking is because I picked up a pair of Acoustic Research A/V cables by mistake thinking they were component video cables.

Am I going to see that much of a improvement with actual component cables, or can I stick with these?

Thanks for the info. :)

If the audio cables are 75 ohm they will work for component video. There is a very good chance that they are because it is cheaper for the manufacturers to just make all the same 75 ohm cables and change the color coding and label.

Cool - thanks for the info.

I'll check the specs on the package, although I presume they're all the same impedance.

Michael.
