A tease from MonolithGuy...

Following the HTP-1 Owner's Thread over at that other site has been an informative and interesting process. One perk has been witnessing the direct involvement of some Members of both Monoprice and Dirac. From the perspective of that specific product, and involving both companies, it's been impressive witnessing their direct participation in addressing concerns and updating bug fixes and firmware updates.
That said, this little blurb caught my attention:
I will say the new stuff should be announced soon and will be SUBstantial and very ClassDy.
Posted here.

I recall, perhaps @shadyJ , mentioning that there was buzz of an update coming to the Monolith Sub line, perhaps refining their looks(?). But the second part... Class D amplification? Perhaps a Monolith version of the ATI Hypex Amps?

I only mentioned that Monolith was considering rounding the edges of their enclosures instead of having them having that abruptly beveled edge. I haven't said anything else regarding the future of their products.

I didn't suggest anything otherwise... :)

However, piecing things together a little with a hefty dose of speculation, if they are updating the cabinets, perhaps there is a little more in store for the Sub line than just an aesthetic tweak.

Well Dirac already has class D plate amplifiers with DSP via miniDSP, a plate amplifier with Dirac onboard via Monolith subwoofer since they too have an ongoing relationship would also be reasonable.

According to MiniDSP's site, the Dirac line does not include the ICEpower Plate Amps. These Amps do include DSP, FIR and IIR Filters, and a phone app.
While we are seeing ARC baked into some products from Paradigm, this is their proprietary technology through Anthem. Though it would be interesting to see a crossover like that with Dirac, the cost associated would not be cheap.
As it stands, the Monolith Subs already use Class D technology and incorporate DSP. Anything beyond that...
...Only leads to speculation.
:)

However, if one were to speculate... Perhaps including a phone app for their Subs and parametric EQ to put them into more direct competition with SVS, Paradigm, etc...? That along with a more attractive cabinet design? :D
