Cameron needs to do something to fund that deep sea expedition.

Heck, I didn't even really like that movie in 2D. It was just OK.

I only saw it because my chick dragged me to see it. I fell asleep.

You must be talking about Young Adam. :) I have zero desire to ever see that movie. First, I thought when it came out that it was going to suck and just about every guy that I've talked to has confirmed that. Second, I already know the ending. :D

Cliff's notes: 1 hr of BLAH BLAH BLAH... (.)(.) another half hour of BLAH BLAH BLAH OH **** iceberg! Then SINKING. So there's a total of about 2 minutes that actually interests a typical male, maybe 15 other minutes that *might* hold our interest in passing and the rest was for the chicks.

Oh, and there are at least a half dozen other movies you can see far more of Kate in, so that doesn't really count.

Maybe if it's 3D, the ship's watchman will realize just how close the iceberg really is and the ship won't sink. That way James Cameron can claim to have changed history with one of his movies.

Cr*p! I started another thread, because I didn't notice this one - probably because of the thread title...;)

I'm quite certain that I won't be seeing this either. I'm not thrilled by 3D and yeah, the majority of it is definitely chick-themed. However, I love old ships, so I enjoyed that aspect from the original.

The 100th anniversary of the sinking is actually a pretty big deal in my neck of the woods, because of Halifax's connection with the sinking. There are memorial services planned, Titanic-themed dinner theatres, etc.

The recovery vessels sailed from Halifax and the recovered bodies were brought back here. 150 of them are buried in local cemeteries. Tourists make a point of going to see the graves. I've lived here for 30 years and still haven't seen them. One somewhat amusing bit of trivia, is that there is a "J. Dawson" in one of those graves. And, of course, some people assumed it was the "real" Jack Dawson. Girls were leaving flowers, movie tickets, undergarments and even hotel room keys at the grave. It turns out that he was Joseph Dawson, a crewmember who worked in a boiler room, shovelling coal.

The only reason I seen the original is since I was locked on my base (army) with nothing else to do but stare at the ceiling. So it helped to kill a few hours

No desire to see the 3D version or for this matter any other 3D material

This w'end We wend down to DC and after seeing the white house and memorials we ended up in the museum of aviation and space and saw the Imax Hubble 3D feature - It was a bright reminded why I hate 3D especially then older video converted to 3d it just looks idiotic.

Converted video does lack the benefits of true 3D and makes it look odd to me, but the stuff that is shot in 3d really does look great. Unfortunately, on most 3D movies, it seems like only a small percentage of the whole films are shot that way and the rest is converted. This movie would be a good example of one that didn't need to be converted.

If you want to see good use of 3D, watch the 3D version of Coraline (not the two color version, the actual 3D version).

I'm sure it will be terrible since it wasn't good he first time around. I am so sick of the hype around 3D! It's funny because 3D was big way back when and then it died out and suddenly it's back again. Why don't we try something cooler like, a movie of holograms (Tupac anyone?). Now that would really make you feel like you were there.

That's ok because I'll repeat my answer from the previous post. I thought it sucked the first time around. It will suck that just much more in 3D. ;)

I just wanted my hands counted to make sure I still have two of them. :p
