A question about the Behringer 2031p Monitors.

Hello All,

I am currently the happy owner of a pair of Behringer 2031p Monitors.

The only physical difference (other than size) between these and the smaller 2030p's is that the 2031p's have metal screen grills over the tweeters, with what looks like a dime sized piece of thin clear film in the center of the metal screens. The 2030p's have nothing covering the tweeters that I can see.

My question is... would it be better if these metal screens were removed from a performance or SQ point of view? I know these speakers are an awesome value for the money, but these screens look a bit crude to me, and I question why the 2031p's have them but the 2030p's do not. Are these an improvement, or a hindrance?

I don't want to do anything hasty or something I will kick myself in the rear for later, so I'm asking for your thoughts.

My 2030p's have a screen over the tweeter. They also have that film thing in the center too.

I don't think they have an effect one way or another on the SQ as they are highly perforated. I doubt you'd gain anything by removing them.

OK, you are correct. The photo of the 2030p's I was looking at showed no grills over the tweeters, but I can't seem to find it now. It must have been a marketing error, or lust an attempt to make them look more appealing (it worked for me).

By the way, while looking for that photo I came across this website selling the 2030p's at the unbelievable rip off price of $439.98!!! http://www.dvwarehouse.com/Behringer-Truth-2030P-Passive-Studio-Monitors-Pair-p-33977.html

Anybody who is looking into getting a pair of these would be well advised to look elsewhere!
