Hey all,
This is my first real post and I wanted to say hello as well as thank you. Ive been lurking here for about 3 weeks, just soaking up all the info, reading reviews, getting ideas on how I want my HT set up, what features I can live without and what parts will work best with each other.
Based on the info I read from this site as well as getting some second or third hand equipment I think I've pieced together a nice system. Please lend your opinions....

Heres what I have so far:
Sub - HSU VTF-3MKII
Fronts - Polk RTi10
Receiver - Denon AVR-3806(tough descision between 3806 and yam. rx-v2600)
Amp - Outlaw 755 ....Thanks to another board member :D

Heres what Im planning:
Center - Polk CSi5
Rear/Back Surrounds - Polk FXi3 x's 4

Do you all think its worth the extra money for the 2 extra FXi's for the back's?

Im sure once the rest of my gear gets here Ill have many more questions.
Thanks,
Shane

Personally I went the 7.1 route since the receiver could and I did not want to take a change on not being able to buy the two back surrounds at a later date.

Since so few movies are recorder in 6.1 or 7.1 I hardly get to use that feature. And when they are in I do not notice much of an improvement.

The 7.1 feature shines when I listen to CD's in 7 channel stereo. It really helps to fill a big room when I have company over. :D

X,
Thanks for the reply. My room is not that large so I think 5.1 will be fine for me. Thanks for the input.

Welcome.

Before you jump on these amps, why not just wait, put the system together, get it calibrated, properly placed, etc, and live with it for a while.
Then, we can discuss the real needs for added amps.

The rear surrounds can make a difference if you have the space. What are your room dimensions and where is the seating located in relation to where the rears would be positioned? You're putting together a nice system.:D The amps will definely be needed to power the RTi10s.

I will post up a dimensions and seating layout later tonight. Mtrycrafts thanks for the post, but I already have the amp.
Gotta run to work. Will post more later. Also thanks for the welcome.

I was thinking of putting the tv on the 8ft 4in wall so that I could put more distance between me and the tv. Which will allow me to set the speakers up better, maybe with the sub behind the couch. Also to clarify incase I worded it improperly, I have everything except the center channel, surrounds and maybe rear surrounds.
