A new LCD brand entered Costco

Another budget LCD is being supplied by Costco called Haier. Does anyone know aything about this brand. Please keep speculative conjecture out of it. I only want to know real life experiences and if anyone knows anything about them.

Just had a look at their web page and they are based out of China.

I thought Haier made kitchen appliances and the like? I guess samsung and LG and others do the same. Hopefully the tvs are decent. More choices for the consumer

For what it's worth, I received a Haier 27" lcd a few years ago free with the purchase of some furniture. Because it was a free tv I didn't expect much...which is good because I didn't get much. The tv's video processing was terrible (faces would contort on the screen on dvd playback, live sports was virtually unwatchable). The remote was unusable, registering approximately every other command. Luckily, within a year it developed a terrible whirring noise every time it was on and then just stopped turning on altogether.

Again, the tv was free. I am not suggesting that other models (which they charge money for) are not any good. But based on my experience I don't think I will take the risk with Haier when choosing my next tv.

They are an LG up in coming. They have been a lost leader for some stores for 5-6 years and seem to be moving towards a better placement.

They are very big internationally. We met with them at one of the shows like 2 years ago and have been surprised it's taking them this long to get distribution in the US.

Thanks Clint. Have you had a chance to here/see any of their products? One of the posters in this thread didn't like it all and was lucky he received a free one.
