A little help setting up HT...speaker ?

Hey guys and gals....I am a newbie to post on here but have been reading on this site for a little while. I am in the process of setting up a HT in my basement and plan to watch movies, music, etc. The room is ~14 ft. wide in the sitting area and approximately 15-16 ft. deep before it open up in a "L" fasion. Total depth is about 25-28 ft. (not home presently and unable to take measurements). My plan is to do a 7.1 system and initially use a pair of my old polk satelites for the rear speakers. I am considering doing Infinity Primus P162 x4 and PC 350 for center with a Rythmic FV12 as the sub. Although not looking to spend more, I would be willing to if it ment an overall better system. Any thoughts?

I noticed the EMPtek EFFTi 5.1 system is on sale right now. Would that be a better way to go for the money?

How do the EMP E5RiR compare in sound/quality to the Infinity Primus PC 350?
Any thoughts?

Anyone know if it would be a problem to recess the 55ti towers into the wall (~3") in re: to the sound? Still considering going this route but have to decide today. Thanks for any insight.

center chanel and front (L/R) speakers

Does the center channel and the front two (left and right) speaker need to match? Was wondering if it would work to put the EMP E56CiB between the E5TiR towers. Would the center channel over power the towers? My though was trying to get a more full sound for music and movies out of the center vs. going with the E5CiR. Just trying to decide which way to go. Thanks for any input.
