I am looking for a new DAC. I am looking to run this unit into a MAC 252 or 352. I’ll prob run my turntable strait to the MAC.
What I would like in a DAC is the ability to process high quality Audio from my phone or iPad or hifi handheld player (like my astell and kern kann or similar ).
I would like this DAC to accept an external Bluetooth receiver so as time goes by and Bluetooth upgrades are available I can just worry about upgrading the external Bluetooth piece to the latest and greatest.

For sources I will use tidal and or Amazon HD or whatever music I download to the astelI and kern (I use this to playback music on my mosconi 8-12 aerospace in my truck. It uses an external Bluetooth chip and feeds the mosconi via optical cable).

I understand Amazon and tidal are cd quality or so but I am looking for the highest output from theDAC possible so as time goes on the DAC is not my limiting ability.

I was looking at the stuff Shiit makes. I liked the mb20 but I’m not sure it will work as a stand alone dac. I’m open to suggestions

last I’m open to Bluetooth receivers also and I’m not oppose to the DAC having Bluetooth but I would like it to accept next years Bluetooth whatever it may be.

Why in hell would you invest in a higher priced dac just to use bluetooth with? That makes no sense. What is the current dac? You're overthinking the role of the dac overall I think. Hopefully you don't think a dac can help a turntable....

The DAC in my case I won’t be using for the turntable. Sorry if my post sounds like it. I will run the DAC strait to my MAC integrated.

My DAC will be for my streaming. It seems as though many DACs use Bluetooth this or that I just assume this will get outdated so I would like to just have to update the Bluetooth of the day from then on out. If that makes sense.

I'm old school so dacs don't ever work with turntables/cartridges.....altho I suppose a modern version just might do an adc then send it out....

I'm more interested in why you just don't send the signal to your apple computer via airplay....or you're trying to not use the dac in the apple unit?

When I say mac. I mean McIntosh. Only apple thing I own is a IPhone. No computers involved here.

To clarify. I will turntable here and there strait to the McIntosh 252 or 352. But I will mostly be streaming music or allowing my guests to stream music to the Bluetooth chip of the day.
I’m trying to buy a few timeless pieces with minimal upgrades overtime in the future.
