A budget classic bites the dust

I see the wonderful Adire Rava sub has been replaced by the Rava Mk II. While I'm sure the new version is a nice sub, at $800 it's now twice the price of the classic Rava! Yikes, what a price hike! It's hard to blame them for raising the price- at $400 apeice they couldn't have been making much. But doubling it...

Too bad. That's one less bargain on the market.

Not me. I'm in the market for a sub in the $400 - $600 range. The old Adire Rava was in the running -- but no longer.

:D I want to hear it, not necessarily own it.

In that range, I'd take a serious look at the SVS PB-10 or PB-12. How big is your room?

I've considered those subs -- too big. Looking for something smaller and a little more musical. Right now I'm leaning toward the Onix Rocket ULW-10 or possibly the UFW-10. The room's big - 18' x 18' x 12' open to other rooms. However, the listening area is not quite that big and I'm not interested in chest-pounding bass. Moreover, those are Internet subs that can be returned if they don't "fill the room." In that case, I can go back to looking at larger subs.
