A Blue Ray Universal HD DVD SACD DVD-A

Anyone know if a Universal DVD, Blueray, SACD, DVD-A CD, HDCD player being developed?

Wouldn't mind a blu-ray DVD-Audio player myself. All we know is it will not be by Sony. Hopefully one of the good neutral companies will consider it.

Denon would likely be the first company to develop and produce such a player, minus the HD DVD segment possibly. Oppo announced they would be making a Blu-ray player, hopefully it will include the SACD and DVD-Audio playback. It's not likely the Oppo will feature HDCD and most definitely not HD DVD.

Don't forget Harman Kardon is also coming out with a blu-ray player, which hopefull will also have DVD-A & SACD.

User "denonjeff" from the AVS Forum, who is under the Denon umbrella, stated that Denon's second generation BD player will have SACD support. He didn't mention DVD-Audio either way, but one would think from Denon it should have both.

I would expect the same from Pioneer.

According to Afterdawn the BDP-S350 and BDP-S550, 3rd gen BD-players from Sony, will both have SACD support.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Oppo come up with. I just don't have the coin for Denon's BD players at the moment.

If you throw out any mention of HD DVD, I don't think this is an unrealistic expectation for late this year or sometime next year. DVD-A and SACD are more about just putting the right chip in place, so I could see them coming along from one of the more neutral parties soon enough.

Soon enough meaning it still has to be designed, developed, and tested, so no sooner than late this year or sometime next year.

If you have no patience, then there are solutions already... Just not inside of a single box.

I have even less patience, so I have an A2, PS3, and multiple players in other formats. That's what us really desperate folk do.
