We were pleased to discover Joe Cornwall of Impact Acoustics (one of our approved cable vendors) is an avid music lover. With that we asked him to write a few reviews of some of his favorite CD’s. Here is a first of many CD reviews to come which Joe refers to as “A Basket Full of Blues” encompassing artists such as: Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin & Paco de Lucia, Deep Purple, The Doobie Brothers, Canned Heat, Jimmy D. Lane, Hubert Sumlin. Be warned however that reading these reviews may give you an impulse to take a trip to your local music store.

mmmmmmmm.......deep purple.

I myself am a huge deep purple fan. Heres the really spooky thing though. I am 17 years of age, and deep purple was one of my fathers favorite(and still is) bands. He started liking them around the same time that i did. So what im saying is, will i turn out like my father in a mental aspect, or is this just a coisidence.

I can't say if listening to Mr. Blackmore and friends will make you turn out differently than your dad, but I can assure you that if both of you are Purple fans then you are at least thinking correctly ! :)

My son, who is now 23, came to me several years ago all hyped up about a band he "discovered". I just had to go to the media room to listen to this killer music. The recording was "Paranoia" by Black Sabbath! He found it hard to believe that I was watching Sabbath in concert in 1974 and that I was there when an unknown Van Halen opened the show for Ozzy, Tony and friends.

Of course when I was 17 I "discovered" Miles Davis!

The more things change, the more they stay the same...
