hello i found a great price on fine silver wire it,s at present $23 per 50ft 24 gaw it,s jewery wire but still 99.99%fine.the site,s on the net called myrontoback.com.ph number 1-800-223-7550.i called and the responce i got was{oh your one of those sterio guy,s}guess im not the first lol.

I just connected new speakers. Does silver really help that much?

I can't imagien that it would; it's only a very little bit more conductive than copper.
if you wanted to try it $23 for 50 feet isn't to bad of a price, however, 24 gauge is VERY thin for speaker wire. better just to stick with 10 to 16 gauge copper wire.

Most silver speaker wire is actually just silver coated copper. There is a slight difference to my ears, but not one to write home about - in other words, I wouldn't pay a premium for it. The interconnects I use for SACD/DVD-A are silver and they do have a slighlty different sound (highs are a little more pronounced) than when using copper ones from the same company, but again, it is a very minor difference.

24AWG is probably going to be too thin for almost every application, so you are going to need triple or quadruple runs, thus eliminating the cost savings.

i made interconnect,s with this and it does bring out more detail in the tweets for bass thoughe id use 10gaw copper,copper gives more punch.
