The Kameleon 9960 is a decent remote, but you can get them new on eBay for about 35.00 - 40.00 The good thing with them, is that they are upgradeable they have a built in modem. I have also had a 3120 I think its called.
Also have had a Pronto TSU500 (you can get now for about 70-85.00 and this is computer customizable) , also had the TSU3000 MSRP 300.00 plus a 70.00 charger (you can find the remote & charger for 200.00)
By chance I just sold my TSU3000 (for a decent price), If you buy one of these, the charger is seperate - make sure you get it. However, this is much more customizable, and is more for a serious Home Theater. It can control everything these others can do, and much more. Including lighting, A/C's, Projectors, etc....
Now back to the 9960 that you are looking at. Are you good with a computer?
And if you are truly thinking of going about max 70-80.00? If so, then you may want something like the TSU500 or better. The 500 is a very easy remote to program, and all buttons are customizable.
However, if you do want the 9960, remember you can get it much cheaper than Best Buy. I had one, and it will control most of your components. TV, Stereo, DVD Player, Tape Deck, VCR, Satellite Dish, etc.. It is a learning remote, and learns quite easily. So you can learn all of your remotes into this, then put all the others into the drawer. The 9960 is a pretty sturdy remote. It also will eat batteries, so make sure you get some AA rechargeable batteries and a charger. With my 3120, it was much like this one. I had opened the remote up, and removed the motion sensor because it really ate batteries up fast. Anyhow, the 9960 fits in the hand well, it also is quite bright - So night viewing is easy for all buttons.
Have you ever worked with a Learning Universal remote?
