Custom Bohlender Graebner Acculine series Planar ribbon drivers. Custom hand built in USA for automobile but great for home to.
This set comes with 3 pairs of 22 inch ribbon drivers and 1 pair of 12 inch custom under dash mount version.
All these speakers are brand new condition and have never been installed. A pair of the 22 inch was $1600 when purchased and the 12 Inch was $1200.
Sell all for $1500 OBO.
NOTE: These are not cheap speakers or cheap versions which you can buy at an unnamed online supplier.
The speakers come with the required crossover and notch filters.
The 12 inch comes in a custom horn type housing with an additional tweeter to make up for losses when used under the dash. The lens housing can be easily removed from the 12 inch speakers.
In the home this setup could be used as a 7.1 surround sound system with 2-22" drivers in front, 2 on the sides and 2 in the rear with the 2-12" for the center channel. (NOTE: The 12" drivers are 2 ohms but if you choose to use for center, just wire in series and adjust values for notch filters accordingly.)
All you would really need is a sub woofer.
Or you could build custom speakers and sell them for a couple of thousand per pair because these same drivers are used in speakers costing up to $25,000.
You will not believe the sound that comes from these drivers. These are not like domes or cones where you can tell where the sound is coming from. The sound from these will come from everywhere.
A simple enclosure or baffle is required for these speakers.
Remember, the higher the crossover point for these the more power they will handle. In the original installation, which never materialized, I was going to cross them over at 500 Hz and use a good mid bass but I think 500 Hz would make them able to handle sufficient power. That is just my opinion but you could play with what would really be best for your situation.
I have plenty of pictures which I would be more than happy to email to you if you wish.
