7UY w/ Component Problems!!!

Guys,

I cannot get my Component Inputs to work. I bought the RCA-BNC Adapters .. so that I could hook my Xbox up to the 7uy .. the connectors snap in place fine, and seem to make a nice fit. But when I turn on the TV ... it displays NO SIGNAL, and I cannot get the TV to see the incoming signal on the Component Ins. Using the INPUT Button on the remote does nothing .. and it almost seems like the TV is not even receiving the signal. It does the same thing with my DVD Player via a different Component Cable!!

Any Ideas .. could I have bad BNC Adapters .. or could the Component Blade be bad??

Thanks,
Nick

Glad you found me. :)

Since you already used a different source and still no picture, try the following:

1) Remove the Component Blade and reinstall it again to see if it works.

if not...

2) Install the Component Blade in the free slot 1 to see if it works.

let me know what happens.

Nick, try to hook it up to composite video (RCA Plug) without the BNC adapter, see if that works.

OK .. so far I have removed and re-installed the Blade, and tried the blade in SLOT 1 with no luck. I get the same results no matter what. So I'm leaning towards a bad Component blade at this point. I'm gonna call DTVCity.com tomorrow and have them ship me out a new blade so I can troubleshoot further.

Thanks for the help guys .. and I'll let ya know how it goes.

Yup.

Looks like the problem is really (And hopefully) with the Component Blade.

Keep us informed. :)

Thanks Bruzzi, agree with you. They never did anything to improve the forums and make them informative and interesting for the members, I am surprised it's back ON again.

Thanks for all your help guys .. I finally figured it out.

In the advanced "Hidden" service menu .. their is an option to lockout Inputs so that your kid can't go up to the TV and switch inputs on ya. That feature had Input2 locked ... meaning I couldn't use any other slot except for what was in Slot2(S-Video). Turned this feature off .. and my component connections starting working fine. Not sure why that was turned on by default though .. weird!!

Well I'm off to play Halo2 in 480P!!! :):):)

That's definitively weird. That feature is always off by default.

Glad you found the problem.

Enjoy your new toy. :) :) :)
