7.1 system equalization

I am used to regular stereo where I have a stereo equalizer connected. However if I want the extended tone control of an equalizer for use with my 5.1 to 7.1 channel receiver - how does that work? Do they make a 7 channel equalizer or am I stuck with the bass and treble controls furnished with the av receiver?

I guess that was a dumb question, once I figure out how to use the receiver I see that I can choose quite a few different equalizations
