7.1 surround spkr help needed

My theatre is a modest 14'by18'. The couch is 12'long and sits right against the long wall the screen is 14' away.I can not shift the couch away from the rear wall as i would be to close to the screen. the 2 side and back spkrs are dipolar. Any ideas (please) on where the speakers should go?????alan .

My opinion...
If you can't move the couch away from the wall; stick with 5.1.
You could experiment with placement on that rear wall but the sound probably won't be ideal.
If by chance your receiver is a Yamaha you could try using the extra pair as presence speakers. Even then dipoles are not the best suited for this purpose.
