7.1 Rear Surround Placement Question

Alright I am buying speakers and have a quick question. My rear surrounds will be in the ceiling about 5-6ft behind the main listening position, and pretty much right over the rear row of my home theater.

Now on to the question. For the in ceiling speakers should I get some that angle towards the main viewing/listening position or shoudl I just get some that have a swivel tweeter with a downward firing mid range? or will it really matter all that much?

purely downfiring in-ceiling speakers will not create much of a rear soundfield for the "first row" of viewers (I assume from your description there are more than one row of seats). Get speakers with angled speakers, or at least a pivoting tweeter" so the row(s) nearer the TV will actually have a rear soundfield.

I am debating whether or not it is worth it to get the NT series over the PT series from the Speaker Company as my rear surrounds. I scored a great deal on the MB quart Alexxa in walls on Amazon last week so I picked those up (6in, the 8in are too big) for my front 3, and I am looking to flush out my surround now. Thanks for all of your help so far.

I would love too, but I am about 5000 miles from the house right now. so how about a description.

The room is 15x18ft with 9ft ceilings. The front row will be about 12ft back from where the screen will be, and the surrounds will be mounted at the sides of that location. Behind the first row is a 12in riser across the width of the room that is 5ft deep going all the way to the back wall of the room. Above the riser is where the pre-wiring is for the rear surround speakers, as well as the outlet of a conduit for running wires to a projector. Really the question boils down too should the rear surrounds be aimed at the main listening postion (row 1) or should they be down firing on top of row 2? or does it really matter?
