Gday.
On the front of my Kenwood KRF - V5090D Audio Video Surround Reciever http://www.kenwoodaudio.com/Australia/prodDetails.asp?Cat=Home Entertainment&SubCat=Components&Model=KRF-V6090D-S I have a label that says 7.1 channel ready. How can this be if I only have 5 black/red wire inputs at the back for a 5.1 speaker setup? The only unused holes at the back are Pre - Out surround Back L and surround back R. Is this where the additional 2 speakers are plugged into and if so how can I convert my old black/red connecting wires to a digital-type connection/cable connection?

I also have an unused Input area - DVD/6ch Input. Is this for 6.1 speaker setup? They are all cable inputs.

Thanks for help

You can get 7.1 with the addition of a stereo power amp or another reciever. You would run "RCA" cables from the surround back left and right to the amp and let that drive the additional speakers.

The 6 channel inputs you see are for analog DVD connections. Their primary use is for DVD audio.
