Hi all,

Need to find out which of my components I need to connect this cable to & from. What's the purpose of this cable?

Thanks,

John

if there is just one cable in the kit, it is most likely for the digital sound from the cable box to the receiver. look for something that says "Co-Ax Out" or "Digital Out" on the box and "Digital In" or "CO-Ax In" on the receiver.

It carries the 5.1 sound from any surround sound broadcasts.

If there is not such a mark on the box, look on the TV for a similar output.

Probably for going from the set top box to the receiver for analog audio.

Well, you asked about a 6ft stereo analog cable and leprkon is talking digital. I am confused.

Where did this cable come from? Is your system not doing something?
Maybe it is a leftover cable?

Is there a color on the ends? How many RCA connectors on the cable, 4? If so, it sounds like analog audio for analog audio connections between components but not to the speakers, unless you have a LFE/sub out on a receiver with two RCA connections and your sub is not yet hooked up?
Unless you question is a generic one, about the cable, I don't understand.
If it is generic, and it has 4 RCA connectors, you can use it for any analog audio connections.
Video connections needs a video cable, either a yellow in a bundle, or a coax cable. Now, a video cable can be used anywhere, including analog audio but usually not as a speaker cable:)

Hopefully there is an answer here, or post again:D
