My situation is no spouse and plan on working till I'm dead LOL. Health wise things can change in a hurry, but at the moment the most I plan to do is a weekend trip somewhere. I'd love to own a cheap DIY home but dunno if that's financially or physically realistic A duplex hopefully with doing flowers and cats. I'm leaning toward 70 with that in mind because I want more later under the assumption as I age my mobility will deteriorate. Yes I'm missing out on money early, but if I can continue to work FT as long as I can than that seems to be the best option.

Any thoughts?

Edit: duplex as a renter. A cheap DIY house to own, if that's even possible.

I'll be Bill Bixby later in life. Walking across the country and hitchhiking with only a backpack filled with granola bars and a container of water. Then when somebody nearly hits me with their car on the side of the road.....:D

Keep working but experiment with drugs and get blackout drunk at any functions with over 25 people.

That's probably what I would do without a spouse.

U no fun. ;)
The next life, you never know. Kind of like tomorrow, kind of like the next 5 minutes but what work do you do? Where do you live? Hitch hiking sounds like a drag; too much work and the world is full of f^%&ing weirdos anymore.

I wouldn't count on making it to 70. Like I'm 61 and if I could retire yesterday I would but that's not something past me set up for present me. Future me is gonna have to figure some sh!t out.

Thought I once saw a pic of yours at a house. So if you do own one not too bad. I talked to a woman once in her mid 30s who was thinking of selling hers. I wouldn't recommend that given the housing market hasn't been the same since 2008.

Now that I think on it it was a pic of a yard with I think a kids slide lol.

I live here to help out family. I might die here too but I don't own it. I also live in a small 2 bedroom condo with SWMBO and that's more to my liking in most ways except not being able to crank music. It's complicated and messy but the dog and the kid come with the house. Peace and quiet comes with the condo. My eyebrows are turning white at an alarming rate.
