62" Mitsubishi Diamond DLP w/ Spots on Display!!

I noticed after moving my diamond dlp TV that several spots are now showing on the screen. These spots occur with or without an input and on all inputs. They are blackish-grey and don't move around at all. I believe that dust may have gotten on the mirror based on a similar article that I found on the inet.

My question, has anyone else had this issue Mitsubishi or not? Is this something that you just have to deal w/ when using DLP sets?

Does you TV happen to be a WD-525 model? The spots are most likely dust and you will probably have to have a tech clean it out. I have seen that problem on several 525 model sets.

Yes. 62525...I found several references on the net regarding the same thing you stated. I also found several that explained "how-to" do the cleaning. It doesn't sound too bad. Is there anything that ABSOLUTELY REQUIRES a tech? Or is it simply to keep people out of the TV? The spots are now really getting annoying and if I could do it myself I would like to.

If you feel confident in doing it yourself and the TV is not under warranty then there is no reason that you couldn't do it.

Yep, not under warranty anymore...It sounds like I am pretty lucky that these spots are just now showing up as most people seem to get them w/in three to six months.

I feel like I could do it. Will enlist the help of a friend for support (literally and metaphorically) and go for it. Thanks for the help fellas.
