Don't get the 8" sub from that set, otherwise it's very solid 5.0 set. Stick with 5.0 and get better sub when budget allows
Are you looking for $600-700 for full 5.1? How about receiver?

Receiver i was going to go with the Onkyo TX-NR626. Probably more then i need but it gives room for upgrading.
What would you recommend as a alternative sub?

You're probably overspending on receiver. Denon E300 would work as good at your budget. To get best results - spend vast majority on speakers, not electronics - just get one with bare minimum required features

What's the budget for sub and how big is the room you will place the system?

Im gonna guess my room is around 12'x20'

can you suggest any alternatives to the pioneer set that are good in that price range?
Im finding it very hard to get in canada with out spending 100$ on shipping per item.

like I said you wont get better 5.0 set than pioneer for your money - try to find a local store so you don't have to pay shipping
However good subs start at $500-600 - probably it worth for you for deep dive into Kinjii (or whatever north of the border Craigslist called) 2nd hand market
SVS, HSU, Rythmic, PowerSound are good subs brands
