6 channel analog or sp-dif

<font color='#000000'>hi. &nbsp;I have a sound card with 6 channel analog out and digital s/pdif &nbsp;coaxial output &nbsp;. my receiver has 6 channel analog input and digital coaxial input. my question is what is better.(s/pdif &nbsp;has only 2 channels &nbsp;but can receiver make 6 of it)?

<font color='#0000FF'>The SPDIF would send the digital stream from your PC allowing your receiver's in-built DAC to decode it into 6 channel format. It would be a highly superior method than using analog inter connects.</font>

now that I have connected pc thru s/pdif the sound is ok but when there is silence &nbsp;or low volume sound &nbsp;during playback (mostly divx movies but also mp3) I can hear noises.</font>

I've tried different configurations on ac3 decoder on my PC and sound drivers but it didn't help much.</font>

<font color='#0000FF'>That noise you hear is emanating from your PC, most PC peripherals are poorly sheilded and therefore emit these noises, this includes your sound card.</font>
